Enio Saraiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tião Ramalho having to interfere. Vítor Paes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Recife in the 21st minute of play. Artur Recife took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vítor Paes. Vítor Paes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Christiano Bastos got free with Tião Ramalho in the 30th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. SS Lazio's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enio Saraiva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vítor Paes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geraldo Lago went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. If Artur Recife had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute.
