Rondonopolis E. C.'s Angelo Arruda played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marquinhos Tinoco in the 5th minute of play. The supporters of Rondonopolis E. C. booed when Resfriado was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquinhos Tinoco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute, Marquinhos Tinoco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 17th minute, Marquinhos Tinoco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelo Arruda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Vitinho Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Arruda having to interfere. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Resfriado's goalkeeper Erik Falcão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 26 minutes into the game, Edson Sousa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Erik Falcão. Edson Sousa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-1. Erik Falcão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Sousa in the 31st minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Marquinhos Tinoco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Resfriado fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Edson Sousa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Rondonopolis E. C. players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Resfriado were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edson Sousa made a kick off. Leonardo Senna charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Leonardo Senna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Erik Falcão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Válter Palmeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Marquinhos Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitinho Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angelo Arruda having to interfere. Rondonopolis E. C. made a substitution. Márcio de Toledo replaced Kaká Sousa. A collision led to Resfriado getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Marquinhos Tinoco hit a great ball. The supporters of Resfriado booed when Rondonopolis E. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Luís Guimarães didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 74th minute the ball was on its way in behind Resfriado's goalkeeper Erik Falcão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Resfriado's zone, Edson Sousa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Erik Falcão came out of the goal and Edson Sousa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erik Falcão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Márcio de Toledo, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Rondonopolis E. C.'s Angelo Arruda proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Rondonopolis E. C. from getting a goal against them. Marquinhos Tinoco could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Angelo Arruda made a huge save. After 81 played minutes Rondonopolis E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Horácio Cruz. Marquinhos Tinoco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Angelo Arruda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 86 minutes, Horácio Cruz mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rondonopolis E. C. and the Resfriado players grew even worse after the yellow card. Angelo Arruda made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marquinhos Tinoco in the 94th minute. The Resfriado players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
