João Paulo Neiva was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Oswaldo Pombal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iuri Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 5th minute. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Acary SS's goalkeeper Oswaldo Pombal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Antônio Carlos Tinoco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Sílvio Luís Machado got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Acary SS's Ademar Araújo got a free kick in the 24th minute. A collision led to Acary SS getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Claudinho de Andrade hit a great ball. Montenebo's Vinícius Corrêa got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Iuri Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montenebo's supporters rose to their feet, but Iuri Veloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oswaldo Pombal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfredinho Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Luís Machado in the 34th minute of play. A hard shot 35 in the game by Renan Cruz from a close distance when the talented Alfredinho Baiano managed to make a qualified save. Montenebo's players were relieved. Through an outstanding action, after 43 minutes, Alfredinho Baiano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 44th minute, Glauco Barbosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Oswaldo Pombal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iuri Veloso in the 51st minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amílton de Amaral during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Acary SS's Amílton de Amaral got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Flavinho Borges didn't quite understand what happened when in the 55 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. Montenebo's Alfredinho Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sílvio Luís Machado in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd match minute, Montenebo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antônio Carlos Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. Alfredinho Baiano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sílvio Luís Machado in the 63rd minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Montenebo's Vinícius Corrêa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswaldo Pombal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Claudinho de Andrade kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Vinícius Corrêa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Oswaldo Pombal made a huge save. Iuri Veloso recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
