Flavinho de Barros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fred Tande, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Dorival Pinheiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Flavinho de Barros was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Arlindo Pirani fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jan Pająk having to interfere. The Pesca Esportiva Clube players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Novo Hamburgo were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fred Tande to make the kick off. If Fred Tande had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavinho de Barros made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Dorival Pinheiro sent off a good shot on target. After 67 played minutes, Pesca Esportiva Clube's Renan Porto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jan Pająk came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pesca Esportiva Clube reached it. Pesca Esportiva Clube's Flavinho de Barros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Pesca Esportiva Clube from getting a goal against them. In the 69th minute, Novo Hamburgo's Fred Tande dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. A collision led to Novo Hamburgo getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Lino Negri hit a great ball. In the 73rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Novo Hamburgo's goalkeeper Jan Pająk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 75th minute, one of Pesca Esportiva Clube:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pesca Esportiva Clube. Josué Lira hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Dorival Pinheiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Flavinho de Barros made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Pesca Esportiva Clube's Renan Porto got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute, Fred Tande got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
