Gilbert's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Secundo AD the free kick. Elano Vieira kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Gilbert's zone, Ciro Gomes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everardo Erruki came out of the goal and Ciro Gomes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Zachariasz Cwenar took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ricardo Viana to make any attempt to save it. When Patrick Massa came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Secundo AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Patrick Massa couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the game, Benê Linares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Everardo Erruki didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ciro Gomes went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Secundo AD's Ciro Gomes got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alex Braga hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Rafa Xavier took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 44th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Everardo Erruki. Gilbert's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gilbert's Benê Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jorginho Toscano hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benê Linares to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Gilbert's zone, Patrick Massa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Everardo Erruki came out of the goal and Patrick Massa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Zachariasz Cwenar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gilbert's supporters rose to their feet, but Zachariasz Cwenar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Viana breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ciro Gomes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Everardo Erruki made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benê Linares in the 63rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ricardo Viana saved Secundo AD from getting behind. Ricardo Viana showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Fonseca in the 64th minute of the match. In the 75th match minute, Secundo AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ulysses Mandrak to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Secundo AD's zone, Benê Linares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Viana came out of the goal and Benê Linares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gilbert's Everardo Erruki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Gilbert from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Patrick Massa in the 84th minute of play forced Gilbert's goalkeeper Everardo Erruki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Gilbert booed when Secundo AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gilvan Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benê Linares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Viana having to interfere. The supporters of Secundo AD booed when Gilbert was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horácio Duarte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zachariasz Cwenar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 99th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilbert's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
