Iuri Paiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When JôVentus FC's Victorino Espiridion in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Esporte Clube Bahia's goalie prevented a goal. Flavinho Seco charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Flavinho Seco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 9 played minutes Esporte Clube Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Flavinho Seco. Hílton Garcia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 11th minute of the match, but Lorenzo Oxel made a huge save. Lorenzo Oxel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hílton Garcia in the 14th minute. Lorenzo Oxel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Virgílio do Nascimento in the 17th minute of the match. When Esporte Clube Bahia's Virgílio do Nascimento in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye JôVentus FC's goalie prevented a goal. Diamantino Meirelles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iuri Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Esporte Clube Bahia's goal looked a bit too open when Victorino Espiridion came free, but Diamantino Meirelles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 22 played minutes Esporte Clube Bahia got a freekick which was hit by Flavinho Seco. JôVentus FC's Lorenzo Oxel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 28th minute of the match, managed to save JôVentus FC from getting a goal against them. Lorenzo Oxel made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Hílton Garcia sent off a good shot on target. In the 31st minute, Elivélton Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lorenzo Oxel came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Esporte Clube Bahia's Geovani Camargo. But to his dismay, Geovani Camargo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. JôVentus FC's Lorenzo Oxel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save JôVentus FC from getting a goal against them. Flavinho Seco hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Perivaldo Goiano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Diamantino Meirelles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iuri Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Iuri Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, JôVentus FC's Artur Amorim seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Artur Amorim the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of JôVentus FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Artur Amorim had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 52 minutes into the game, one of JôVentus FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 55th minute there was a penalty for Esporte Clube Bahia. Luiz Guilherme dos Santos stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Lorenzo Oxel. 2-0. Lorenzo Oxel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgílio do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Iuri Paiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 68th minute, Hílton Garcia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lorenzo Oxel was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. In the 71st minute Virgílio do Nascimento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lorenzo Oxel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lorenzo Oxel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovani Camargo in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio do Nascimento in the 81st minute of play forced JôVentus FC's goalkeeper Lorenzo Oxel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, JôVentus FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hílton Garcia came free, but Lorenzo Oxel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iuri Paiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 87th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diamantino Meirelles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Iuri Paiva ran back to his position shaking his head. 88 minutes into the game, Natanael de Mendonça was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esporte Clube Bahia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave JôVentus FC the free kick. The supporters of JôVentus FC booed when Esporte Clube Bahia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Natanael de Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. JôVentus FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
