Jacinto Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lenílson Torres, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Manchester United's Duarte de Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot by Gabriel Arantes from long distance, 24 minutes into the match, got Jacinto Carvalho's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 1-1 became the score in the 25th minute when Maurício Nascimento elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duarte de Alcântara was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Frederico Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Manchester United's supporters rose to their feet, but Frederico Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eriberto Prado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. LoKoMoTiVa 's Lenílson Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Manchester United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than LoKoMoTiVa throughout the match.
