Luiz Gustavo Queirós was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 11 played minutes Toriba got a freekick which was hit by Claudinei Leão. With his leg Luiz Paulo Mazza managed to avoid a goal in the 14thth minute, when MANOLÃO's Ivo Bueno fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Júlio Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Gustavo Queirós having to interfere. If Claudinei Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Claudinei Leão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Luiz Gustavo Queirós tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Toriba's defense didn't have a chance, in the 25th minute, when Guilherme Vaz scored to the left of an out of position Luiz Paulo Mazza, making the score, 1-1. Claudinei Leão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Gustavo Queirós having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Toriba's Douglas Falcão got a free kick in the 34th minute. Júlio Neiva's late challenge caught a MANOLÃO's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Neiva helped the player get up and apologised. Jarbas Veloso hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After the first half Toriba were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guilherme Vaz to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Toriba booed when MANOLÃO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in MANOLÃO's zone, Claudinei Leão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luiz Gustavo Queirós came out of the goal and Claudinei Leão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ivo Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 61st minute Ivo Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Paulo Mazza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 63 minutes into the match, Toriba's goal looked a bit too open when Ivo Bueno came free, but Luiz Paulo Mazza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. MANOLÃO's Jarbas Veloso pulled a muscle in his back after 65 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 66 played minutes Toriba got a freekick which was hit by Beto Loureiro. César Queiroz came free with the goalkeeper in the 70th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Luiz Gustavo Queirós could save by the left post. 71 minutes into the match, MANOLÃO's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinei Leão came free, but Luiz Gustavo Queirós reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Gustavo Queirós didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from César Queiroz went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. MANOLÃO's Luiz Gustavo Queirós proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save MANOLÃO from getting a goal against them. Toriba's Luiz Paulo Mazza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivo Bueno in the 80th minute of play. In the 83rd minute Claudinei Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Gustavo Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Claudinei Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. César Queiroz struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Luiz Gustavo Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Toriba. If César Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 94th match minute, MANOLÃO was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivo Bueno to maneuver through the defense. When Claudinei Leão, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 95 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Luiz Gustavo Queirós was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar.
