Seating: 1692, VIP seats: 147) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Lucas Matias took the kick off in the first half of the match. 4 minutes into the match, Lucas Matias dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Otávio Baiano, 1-0. Júlio Saldanha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Through an outstanding action, after 9 minutes, Otávio Baiano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Lucas Matias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Otávio Baiano having to make a save. In the 20th minute, Rui Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Fabiano Diniz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hernani Abreu. São Paulo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fabiano Diniz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 29 played minutes São Paulo FC got a freekick which was hit by Rui Velasco. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Matias in the 34th minute of play forced Santa Cruz's goalkeeper Otávio Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armandinho Arantes kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. If Emerson Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Otávio Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Lucas Matias managed to get in a good position for a shot. São Paulo FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Lucas Matias was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Otávio Baiano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olívio da Fonseca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Baiano having to interfere. José Pena kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. If Emerson Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Fabiano Diniz to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, São Paulo FC's Lucas Matias made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Otávio Baiano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lucas Matias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hílton Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Saldanha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Otávio Baiano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75th play minutes Lucas Matias shot 4-1, a short shot which went by Otávio Baiano and just under the crossbar into goal. 79 minutes into the game, Lucas Matias cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Otávio Baiano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Rui Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Otávio Baiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Velasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Lucas Matias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Otávio Baiano having to interfere. Santa Cruz's Otávio Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emerson Albuquerque in the 92nd minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Armandinho Arantes during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Santa Cruz getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Armandinho Arantes hit a great ball. If Emerson Albuquerque had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. There was no doubt that São Paulo FC were the better team. São Paulo FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
