When Vivaldo Sergipano fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pinhal Futebol Clube's protests and gave Vivaldo Sergipano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Magalhaes booed when Pinhal Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vivaldo Sergipano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th match minute, Magalhaes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafael Negri to maneuver through the defense. If Reinaldo Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurinho Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Reinaldo Travassos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Matos having to interfere. 22 minutes into the match, Magalhaes's goal looked a bit too open when Reinaldo Travassos came free, but Acácio Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurinho Paiva in the 26th minute of play forced Magalhaes's goalkeeper Acácio Matos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Travassos took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Acácio Matos. Acácio Matos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Acácio Matos didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reinaldo Travassos went, in the 55th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Magalhaes's Acácio Matos got control of the ball when Maurinho Paiva tried to sneak it across the goal line. Magalhaes's Acácio Matos proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save Magalhaes from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Reinaldo Travassos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pinhal Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Reinaldo Travassos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Acácio Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ernani Ribeiro hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute of the match Pinhal Futebol Clube got a corner. Magalhaes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. If Reinaldo Travassos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Maurinho Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Acácio Matos made a huge save. Maurinho Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acácio Matos having to interfere. Pinhal Futebol Clube played a much better game than Magalhaes and deserved their victory. The Magalhaes players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
