When Betinho Toscano fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Compasso's protests and gave Betinho Toscano a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Compasso's Betinho Toscano got a free kick in the 6th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Arary SS's zone, Ricardo Correia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Betinho Schmidt came out of the goal and Ricardo Correia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Ricardo Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Compasso getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Betinho Toscano hit a great ball. Ricardo Correia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luiz Fábio Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 25 minutes, Silvério Paranaense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Compasso and the Arary SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ricardo Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betinho Schmidt having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zé Augusto Barros got free with Rodolfo Soares in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Fábio Gaspar in the 33rd minute of play forced Compasso's goalkeeper Rodolfo Soares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Augusto Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Luiz Fábio Gaspar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arary SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Luiz Fábio Gaspar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

Compasso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricardo Correia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luiz Fábio Gaspar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Paulo Veloso hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Zé Augusto Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Fábio Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Soares having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Luiz Fábio Gaspar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Felippe Macedo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 87th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Rodolfo Soares. Compasso's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Duda Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. Rodolfo Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Augusto Barros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
