In the 20th match minute, Jataba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cesinha Hoffmann to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cauã Tasso in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mauro Seco saved Jataba from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Eliseu Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guapira's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mauro Seco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 24th match minute, Jataba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Freitas to maneuver through the defense. If Sidnei Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eliseu Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mário Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sidnei Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. Mário Pimenta didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Serginho Saldanha went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sidnei Freitas to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the game, Dino Freitas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guapira's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Jataba the free kick. The supporters of Jataba booed when Guapira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dino Freitas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Jataba's Robinho Machado tried to score from far away in the 56th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 58 minutes, Serginho Saldanha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jataba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serginho Saldanha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Eliseu Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cauã Tasso's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 69thth minute, Mauro Seco skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Mário Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serginho Saldanha, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 80 minutes into the match, Cesinha Hoffmann notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Guapira's Mário Pimenta. Guapira's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
