The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Elano de Carvalho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Elano de Carvalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nando Vianna in the 21st minute of play. Victor Neto's late challenge caught a Vrau AxT's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Victor Neto helped the player get up and apologised. Victor Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. A hard shot by César Dionísio from long distance, 34 minutes into the match, got Frank Lopes's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Elano de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nando Vianna in the 35th minute of the match. A collision led to Vrau AxT getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Benedito da Silva hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nando Vianna in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Elano de Carvalho saved Vrau AxT from getting behind. Frank Lopes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrinho Cordeiro in the 42nd minute of the match. Birigui Knights EC's Frank Lopes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Birigui Knights EC from getting a goal against them. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Pedrinho Cordeiro was the one to do the kick off. Vrau AxT's Elano de Carvalho proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Vrau AxT from getting a goal against them. When Régis Nogueira fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vrau AxT's protests and gave Régis Nogueira a yellow card for diving instead. In the 52nd minute, Régis Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Birigui Knights EC's Nando Vianna in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Carlos Alberto Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elano de Carvalho having to interfere. Pedrinho Cordeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frank Lopes having to interfere. Nando Vianna sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Vrau AxT's zone, Carlos Alberto Neiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elano de Carvalho came out of the goal and Carlos Alberto Neiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 72nd minute of the game. One of Vrau AxT:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Birigui Knights EC:s goal. In the 74th minute of the game, Birigui Knights EC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. 89 minutes into the match, Norberto Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Frank Lopes. Birigui Knights EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Norberto Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. With his leg Elano de Carvalho managed to avoid a goal in the 98thth minute, when Birigui Knights EC's Carlos Alberto Neiva fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The Vrau AxT supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Birigui Knights EC's performance. The match ended with a win for Birigui Knights EC.
