To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 10th match minute, FC Morgenau was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleiton da Silveira to maneuver through the defense. 13 minutes into the match, Geovanni Azevedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Laércio Souto. FC Morgenau's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Geovanni Azevedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 18 minutes into the match, FC Morgenau's goal looked a bit too open when Geovanni Azevedo came free, but Laércio Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emílio Paiva during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Chatuba de Mesquita booed when FC Morgenau was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tarcisio Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Willian Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot.
