But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Anderson Furtado couldn't finish the play. Frédson de Carvalho might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Isaltino Mendes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aloísio Vasconcelos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The supporters of Pindoretama booed when Alcatéia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovani Mendonça didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Gilvan Ramalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aloísio Vasconcelos was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Chants of Pindoretama echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Alcatéia FC had held the ball for most of the match.
