In the 17thth minute of the game Pedrinho Capixaba who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but All Blacks's Valério do Valle was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Pedrinho Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valério do Valle having to interfere. If Raphael de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Pedrinho Capixaba came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Vila Nova F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedrinho Capixaba couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in All Blacks's zone, Víktor Leal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valério do Valle came out of the goal and Víktor Leal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Claudinho Abraão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

In the 59th minute Pedrinho Capixaba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valério do Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Pedrinho Capixaba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valério do Valle was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. When Dadá Dante came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the All Blacks fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dadá Dante couldn't finish the play. Claudinho Abraão was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 79th minute. Vila Nova F.C's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Roberto Guerra's late challenge caught a Vila Nova F.C's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. All Blacks's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
