If Raphael de Queirós had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 34 minutes, Hermínio Donatello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Republica and the All Blacks players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of All Blacks booed when Republica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hermínio Donatello didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edmílson Ferraz during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Republica's Edmílson Ferraz got a free kick in the 42nd minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elivélton Vaz made a kick off. After 51 minutes, Jairo Rezende mouthed his way into the referee's book. The referee ignored All Blacks's protests and gave Genílson Gaúcho a yellow card for diving instead. After 78 played minutes All Blacks got a freekick which was hit by Genílson Gaúcho. The All Blacks supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Republica's performance. The match ended with a win for Republica.
