Wilson Fernandez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Ernani Nunes made a huge save. 35 minutes into the game, Leyliño's Benê Cordeiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diguinho Cunha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. Dedê Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani Nunes having to interfere. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dedê Andrade was the one to do the kick off. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Borba fully deserved thier win.
