Independência Futebol's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Cardozo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldinho Fontes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Clóvis Motta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gil Lopez in the 24th minute. When Didi Lucas came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Areinhas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Didi Lucas couldn't finish the play. If Gil Lopez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Areinhas's goalkeeper Osvaldinho Fontes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Didi Lucas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Independência Futebol's Lino de Toledo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Osvaldinho Fontes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Independência Futebol's Clóvis Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gil Lopez in the 67th minute of play. Clóvis Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gil Lopez, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th minute, Areinhas's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Oscar Cardozo fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. With a little luck, Areinhas's Osvaldinho Fontes got control of the ball when Lino de Toledo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Natanael Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Areinhas defense, Lino de Toledo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osvaldinho Fontes. The Areinhas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osvaldinho Fontes should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute, Dorian Torres sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Areinhas's Osvaldinho Fontes didn't even have to move. Areinhas's Osvaldinho Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Cardozo in the 95th minute of play. Tião de Medeiros kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. Oscar Cardozo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Osvaldinho Fontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
