In the 7th minute, Marcus de Sena ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Orlando Bezerra was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If João Schmidt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Bezerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Schmidt in the 20th minute of the match. Arcadia were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Facao AD's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dedé Munhoz took the corner. After taking down the ball on Arcadia's corner Dedé Munhoz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Orlando Bezerra quite easily take care of the ball. When João Schmidt came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Arcadia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Schmidt couldn't finish the play. After 24 played minutes Facao AD got a freekick which was hit by Richard Severo. Washington Maranhense lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 27th minute, one of Facao AD:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Facao AD. Dedé Munhoz shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Magno Koehler kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marcus de Sena in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Orlando Bezerra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Marcus de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Orlando Bezerra took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus de Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 46th minute, João Schmidt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The wind increased when Diogo Damião made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th match minute, Facao AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jânio Mesquita to maneuver through the defense. Dedé Munhoz, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Orlando Bezerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Schmidt, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Marcus de Sena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Diogo Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Facao AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldinho Dantas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Diogo Damião sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 75 minutes of play, Facao AD's Jean Cruz made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Osvaldinho Dantas was left in no man's land by his defense there! 81 minutes into the game, Marcus de Sena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Orlando Bezerra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 87 minutes, João Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arcadia's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Diogo Damião managed to get in a good position for a shot. Facao AD's supporters rose to their feet, but Diogo Damião was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Osvaldinho Dantas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 92 minutes into the match, Facao AD's goalkeeper Orlando Bezerra had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcus de Sena. When Marcus de Sena came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Arcadia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcus de Sena couldn't finish the play. Arcadia played a much better game than Facao AD and deserved their victory. The Facao AD players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
