In the 10th match minute, ArauCity Atletic Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lauro Paiva to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Guzolândia FC's zone, Christian Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Corrêa came out of the goal and Christian Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guilherme Andrade fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Corrêa having to interfere. Christian Santos hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Gildo Mendes hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The supporters of ArauCity Atletic Club booed when Guzolândia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandinho Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Corrêa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guilherme Andrade's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. Lauro Paiva might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcelo Corrêa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lauro Paiva ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd minute Guilherme Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Corrêa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcelo Corrêa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guilherme Andrade's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. The wind increased when Guilherme Andrade made the kick off in the second half. Guzolândia FC's players were relieved. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Lauro Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. ArauCity Atletic Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Lauro Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Corrêa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Guilherme Andrade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lauro Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 65th minute of the match, but Marcelo Corrêa made a huge save. If Christian Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guilherme Andrade took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcelo Corrêa. Marcelo Corrêa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Lauro Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the ArauCity Atletic Club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lauro Paiva couldn't finish the play. In the 82nd minute, ArauCity Atletic Club's Guilherme Andrade dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-2. The ArauCity Atletic Club fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when ArauCity Atletic Club's Guilherme Andrade looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Guzolândia FC's goalkeeper Marcelo Corrêa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
