André Pereira went to the cornerflag to take it. Charles Quintal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cláudio Porto in the 23rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luisinho Maciel during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Clóvis Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luizinho Paulista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Longarai F.C.'s Orlando Souza got a free kick in the 40th minute. A collision led to Longarai F.C. getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Enéas da Silva hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 51st minute, Doni Donato left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guarakessaba AD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 54th minute, Doni Donato got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Longarai F.C. getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Dráuzio Branco hit a great ball. The supporters of Longarai F.C. booed when Guarakessaba AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Léo Brodel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd match minute, Guarakessaba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisinho Maciel to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Guarakessaba AD's zone, Zé Carlos Quadros stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luizinho Paulista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Clóvis Valladares made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Doni Donato managed to get in a good position for a shot. The audience was convinced that Doni Donato's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Clóvis Valladares was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Longarai F.C.'s Dedé Carioca got a free kick in the 94th minute. Guarakessaba AD's Luisinho Maciel got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guarakessaba AD's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
