Tradição Futebol Clube's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cariacica the free kick. The supporters of Cariacica booed when Tradição Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durvalino do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Michel Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tradição Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michel Domingues was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cafu Cardozo fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 35th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Michel Domingues fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nando Pena having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cafu Cardozo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Cariacica's Cláudio Pires got a free kick in the 51st minute. When Tradição Futebol Clube's Michel Domingues in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. During the 68th minute of the match Durvalino do Vale completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Durvalino do Vale a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Cariacica booed when Tradição Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Durvalino do Vale didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cafu Cardozo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
