After some careless play in the Gonçalense F.C defense, Felipe Antunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Róbson Schmidt. The Gonçalense F.C fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Róbson Schmidt should have stopped the shot. After 9 played minutes Gonçalense F.C got a freekick which was hit by Elias Camargo. Róbson Schmidt came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Sá Viana FC's Felipe Antunes. But to his dismay, Felipe Antunes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Sá Viana FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 13th minute, when Pedro Paulo Sena scored to the left of an out of position Hudson Mangueira, making the score, 1-2. With a little luck, Sá Viana FC's Hudson Mangueira got control of the ball when Sebastião de Brito tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 22nd minute, Felipe Antunes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Vítor de Lara charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Vítor de Lara the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sá Viana FC booed when Gonçalense F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Vítor de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hudson Mangueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlinhos Teixeira in the 29th minute of play. Lucas Schmidt hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Sebastião de Brito managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gonçalense F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastião de Brito was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitinho de Amaral in the 45th minute of play forced Sá Viana FC's goalkeeper Hudson Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipe Antunes to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Zézinho Fonseca mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sá Viana FC and the Gonçalense F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hudson Mangueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlinhos Teixeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Felipe Antunes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Róbson Schmidt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Felipe Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Sá Viana FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Antunes couldn't finish the play. 97 minutes into the match, Sá Viana FC's Felipe Antunes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Róbson Schmidt narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
