Enrique Freire didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Vito Valadares went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. A hard shot by Zé Salgado from long distance, 13 minutes into the match, got Remigio Claus's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some careless play in the Perseveranca defense, Vicente Damião kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrique Freire. The Perseveranca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Freire should have stopped the shot. Vito Valadares hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Climax FC's zone, Zé Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Remigio Claus came out of the goal and Zé Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Vicente Damião's late challenge caught a Perseveranca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Damião helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Climax FC's Vicente Damião got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute of the match Jorginho Cerezo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Remigio Claus showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Vicente Damião's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Freire was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. After some careless play in the Perseveranca defense, Ştefan Arghiroiu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Enrique Freire. The Perseveranca fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Enrique Freire should have stopped the shot. After 29 minutes, Zé Salgado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Perseveranca and the Climax FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Perseveranca getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. The wind increased when Víktor Valle made the kick off in the second half. Cícero Soares's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Enrique Freire skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ştefan Arghiroiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Enrique Freire read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. With his leg Enrique Freire managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Climax FC's Cícero Soares fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 75th minute of the match, Ştefan Arghiroiu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Enrique Freire saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Cícero Soares did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-11 to the left of a surprised Enrique Freire 79 minutes into the match. In the 84th minute Ştefan Arghiroiu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Freire saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cícero Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With his leg Enrique Freire managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Climax FC's Cícero Soares fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When the match was over Climax FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Perseveranca throughout the match.
