The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fernando Rezende kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. The supporters of EC Framengo booed when PIRANGI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Gabriel da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the match, EC Framengo's Fernando Rezende sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andrézinho Xavier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 72 played minutes EC Framengo got a freekick which was hit by Acácio Correia. After a defensive mix-up in PIRANGI's zone, Diogo Falcão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrézinho Xavier came out of the goal and Diogo Falcão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 77th minute, Alberto Tinoco managed to get in a good position for a shot. PIRANGI's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberto Tinoco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juarês Neves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luan Vianna's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Juarês Neves firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 90th minute, Fernando Rezende fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Andrézinho Xavier. Chants of PIRANGI echoed around the stadium as the match drew to a close. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as EC Framengo had held the ball for most of the match.
