An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Motta in the 10th minute of play forced Hunter's goalkeeper Fahl Messi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aílton Martins had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aílton Martins might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Augusto Nascimento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aílton Martins ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half the score was level. There was no doubt that Hunter were the better team. Hunter's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
