Rap é o Som's attentive Renato da Costa managed to snatch the ball when Zé Paulo Neto made a throw-in in the 4th minute of the game. 6 minutes into the match, Luiz Fábio Mendonça had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubens Travassos. Rap é o Som's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luiz Fábio Mendonça was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rap é o Som's Rubens Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Neto in the 9th minute of play. Rubens Travassos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Mendonça in the 10th minute of play. Marcel Baiano scored 0-2 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubens Travassos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rubens Travassos came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by Guarulhas's Luiz Fábio Mendonça. But to his dismay, Luiz Fábio Mendonça quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Téo Almeida during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 37 minutes into the match, Marcel Baiano had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rubens Travassos. Rubens Travassos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. The supporters of Guarulhas booed when Rap é o Som was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rubens Travassos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcel Baiano's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Rap é o Som's Rubens Travassos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fábio Mendonça in the 48th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Augusto Trevisan to strike the kick off in the second half. Rubens Travassos made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Marcel Baiano sent off a good shot on target. Marcel Baiano came free with the goalkeeper in the 54th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rubens Travassos could save by the left post. Rubens Travassos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio Mendonça, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiaguinho Reis recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Téo Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Guarulhas's Luiz Fábio Mendonça slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rubens Travassos. That made the score 0-7 after 69 minutes of play. In the 72nd minute, Marcel Baiano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Guarulhas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-8. 75 minutes into the match, Rap é o Som's goalkeeper Rubens Travassos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcel Baiano. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hudson Queirós in the 77th minute of play forced Rap é o Som's goalkeeper Rubens Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Rap é o Som's Rubens Travassos got control of the ball when Marcel Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubens Travassos made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Tiaguinho Reis sent off a good shot on target. Kauã Quintal scored 1-9 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bret Harper, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcel Baiano scored 1-10 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rubens Travassos, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcel Baiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but Rubens Travassos made a huge save. When the match was over Guarulhas could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Rap é o Som throughout the match.
