A throw-in in the 4th minute of the game was made by Emílio Trancoso with Luiz Eduardo Romero as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Clemente Corrêa charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clemente Corrêa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Vila Nova Prudy getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Clemente Corrêa hit a great ball. Ian Camargo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rafael Cerezo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The throw-in from Joel Miranda in the 21st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Clube Náutico Capibaribe's Leonel de Queirós. If Ciro Pimenta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rafael Cerezo in the 26thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Beto Nunes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 30th minute, Leonel de Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benjamim Bueno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Hugo Fonseca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ian Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 44 played minutes Vila Nova Prudy got a freekick which was hit by Geovânio Travassos. In the 44th minute, Benjamim Bueno made a precise shot to the right of Hugo Fonseca. Vila Nova Prudy's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Benjamim Bueno made a kick off. Rafael Cerezo took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Beto Nunes. Beto Nunes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 66th match minute, Clube Náutico Capibaribe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Vidal to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rafael Cerezo in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beto Nunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 71st play minute Ian Camargo came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Hugo Fonseca. 1-2. The supporters of Vila Nova Prudy booed when Clube Náutico Capibaribe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adriano Brasil didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clube Náutico Capibaribe's attentive Leonel de Queirós managed to snatch the ball when Joel Miranda made a throw-in in the 81st minute of the game. Eriberto Peres fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugo Fonseca having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Cerezo in the 94th minute of play forced Clube Náutico Capibaribe's goalkeeper Beto Nunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luiz Eduardo Romero struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Beto Nunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vila Nova Prudy. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Clube Náutico Capibaribe had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
