Jailson Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pål Sigman in the 33rd minute of play. If Pål Sigman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Paulo Branco in the 40th minute of play forced SAPIRANGA E C's goalkeeper Fernandinho Esteves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
