Red Fox Sport's Gil Cruz got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sandrinho Arantes was the one to do the kick off. Marcelo Meireles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Gustavo Recife in the 53rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Jorginho Santos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Fox Sport's supporters rose to their feet, but Jorginho Santos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcelo Meireles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Acácio Velasco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute.
