In the 85thth minute of the game Narciso Pereira who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Boaventura SC's Pedro Luiz de Andrade was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Maurício Macedo fell near the penalty area in the 87th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Esporte Clube Italva's protests and gave Maurício Macedo a yellow card for diving instead. Boaventura SC's Dadá Miranda got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match was over Esporte Clube Italva could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Boaventura SC throughout the match.
