Juninho Barreto came free with the goalkeeper in the 2nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Enrique Pontes could save by the left post. Enrique Pontes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Conrado Hermes's late challenge caught a Vendramini Team's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Conrado Hermes helped the player get up and apologised. Sérgio Lima recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 11th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With an all-out effort, Vendramini Team's Enrique Pontes threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luiz Fábio França, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Enrique Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fábio França, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 played minutes Vendramini Team got a freekick which was hit by Vânderson Figueiredo. If Conrado Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 40 played minutes Brazabrantes got a freekick which was hit by Márcio Eger. An unexpectedly hard shot by Conrado Hermes in the 43rd minute of play forced Vendramini Team's goalkeeper João Carlos Motta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Juninho Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enrique Pontes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hortêncio Eger in the 57th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 65th minute by Zé Pedro Leão got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 69th minute, Matheus Marquez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Conrado Hermes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Carlos Motta having to interfere. 79 minutes into the match, Brazabrantes's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Barreto came free, but Enrique Pontes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luiz Fábio França sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Juninho Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enrique Pontes was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. Enrique Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juninho Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Despite being the better team, Brazabrantes failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
