Spectators: 7666 (Terracing: 5751, Seating: 1762, VIP seats: 153) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. In the 18th minute of the match, Alvaro Castorena got a very nice opportunity to score, but Raúl Gonçalves was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alvaro Castorena got free with Raúl Gonçalves in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 26 minutes into the match, Maracachita SS's goalkeeper Raúl Gonçalves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvaro Castorena. An unexpectedly hard shot by Messaoud Junior in the 27th minute of play forced Maracachita SS's goalkeeper Raúl Gonçalves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Raúl Gonçalves didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alvaro Castorena went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. After 38 minutes of play, Buritizo's Silvio Artizar made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Raúl Gonçalves was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 41 minutes, Chiquinho Santana mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maracachita SS and the Buritizo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Raúl Gonçalves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Messaoud Junior in the 42nd minute of the match. When Messaoud Junior came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Buritizo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Messaoud Junior couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Messaoud Junior to strike the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, Maracachita SS's Chiquinho Santana sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Glauco Rosa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Buritizo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Tomás Pinheiro was slow to take the kick. During this time Maracachita SS's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Nelson Fernandes heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. The Buritizo fans' excitement grew in the 60th match minute when Buritizo's Messaoud Junior looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 7-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 65 minutes into the game, Buritizo's Messaoud Junior nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raúl Gonçalves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. 69 minutes into the match, Maracachita SS's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Castorena came free, but Raúl Gonçalves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raúl Gonçalves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alvaro Castorena's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the game, Buritizo's Silvio Artizar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raúl Gonçalves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alvaro Castorena in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Raúl Gonçalves saved Maracachita SS from getting behind. Maracachita SS's Raúl Gonçalves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Messaoud Junior in the 78th minute of play. After some careless play in the Maracachita SS defense, Silvio Artizar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Raúl Gonçalves. The Maracachita SS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raúl Gonçalves should have stopped the shot.
