Sérgio Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Roger de Lara tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Wesley Albuquerque's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lauro da Silveira was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luís Fernando Saldanha in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Roger de Lara made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sérgio Mangueira in the 16th minute. After a defensive mix-up in União São José FC's zone, Wesley Albuquerque stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauro da Silveira came out of the goal and Wesley Albuquerque tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 19 minutes of play, União São José FC's Sérgio Mangueira made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Roger de Lara was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind União São José FC's goalkeeper Lauro da Silveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 24 minutes into the match, União São José FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alex de Alcântara came free, but Lauro da Silveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Alex de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wesley Albuquerque in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lauro da Silveira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 45th minute, Luís Fernando Saldanha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wesley Albuquerque made a kick off. Lauro da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Albuquerque in the 51st minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Caravelas FC were awarded a corner. Marcelo Coutinho went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Marcelo Coutinho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Lauro da Silveira quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Sérgio Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. In the 69th minute, Wesley Albuquerque got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sérgio Mangueira in the 74th minute of play forced Caravelas FC's goalkeeper Roger de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Caravelas FC's Wesley Albuquerque got a free kick in the 78th minute. After a rather tough play, União São José FC's Sílvio Andrade got a free kick in the 81st minute. Wesley Albuquerque who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 86thth minute tested the skills of Lauro da Silveira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Wesley Albuquerque in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lauro da Silveira saved União São José FC from getting behind. In the 91st match minute, União São José FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. Wesley Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Roger de Lara showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gil Meirelles in the 95th minute of the match. União São José FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
