When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Luiz Guilherme Paraense put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Pedro Augusto Pinho. Pedro Augusto Pinho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Guilherme Paraense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Guilherme Madureira during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luiz Guilherme Paraense in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pedro Augusto Pinho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, SAS's Luiz Guilherme Madureira got a free kick in the 34th minute. 35 minutes into the match, SAS's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Albuquerque came free, but Edvaldo Brasil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedro Augusto Pinho made a fantastic save in the 36th minute, when Edgar Salles sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of SAS booed when Manituba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arlindo de Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute Juninho Albuquerque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvaldo Brasil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Agostinho Carneiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 68 minutes into the match, Manituba's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Salles came free, but Pedro Augusto Pinho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alois Cambuquira in the 72nd minute of play forced SAS's goalkeeper Edvaldo Brasil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edvaldo Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ezequiel Andrade in the 76th minute of the match. Agostinho Carneiro hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. When Sandrinho Valle came up free with the goalie in the 92nd minute, the SAS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandrinho Valle couldn't finish the play. SAS were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Manituba for a fine match.
