A collision led to Clube Athletico Valão getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Ian do Vale hit a great ball. Honorio Tanio kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Clube Athletico Valão's goal looked a bit too open when Agostinho Vander came free, but Virgílio Madureira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rodrigo Matei in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Virgílio Madureira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Virgílio Madureira made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Agostinho Vander sent off a good shot on target. Agostinho Vander who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Virgílio Madureira when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Clube Athletico Valão booed when São Paulo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Klavs Gieselager didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damian Bologa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Pedro Couto in the 31st minute of play. After 34th play minutes Rodrigo Matei shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Virgílio Madureira and just under the crossbar into goal. Virgílio Madureira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Agostinho Vander showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 37 minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

After a rather tough play, Clube Athletico Valão's Fábio Salles got a free kick in the 51st minute. The tension between the Clube Athletico Valão and the São Paulo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Clube Athletico Valão's supporters rose to their feet, but João Pedro Couto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Damian Bologa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 73 played minutes Clube Athletico Valão got a freekick which was hit by João Pedro Couto. Virgílio Madureira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Matei, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 75 minutes had been played when some careless play by Clube Athletico Valão's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Agostinho Vander was slow to take the kick. During this time São Paulo's players had a chance to rest. São Paulo's Agostinho Vander was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Virgílio Madureira in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Humberto Peres during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 88th minute, Nuno Barros got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 90 played minutes Clube Athletico Valão got a freekick which was hit by Humberto Peres. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Agostinho Vander put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Virgílio Madureira. São Paulo were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Clube Athletico Valão for a fine match.
