But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidio Mosen couldn't finish the play. Geronimo Gartzea made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Fidel Pereyra sent off a good shot on target. Victorino Nuñez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aldo Niguel in the 43rd minute of the match. 45 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bakemonogatari's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Enrique Naelio was slow to take the kick. During this time Defensa y Justicia's players had a chance to rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aldo Niguel to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Feo in the 54th minute of play forced Defensa y Justicia's goalkeeper Geronimo Gartzea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aldo Niguel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorino Nuñez having to interfere. Aldo Niguel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 68th minute, Primitivo Katia made a precise shot to the right of Geronimo Gartzea. Defensa y Justicia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 73rd minute Aldo Niguel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Nuñez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Melquiades Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bakemonogatari's Leo Arnalt was substituted for Primitivo Katia. 80 minutes into the match, Bakemonogatari's Ovidio Mosen sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Geronimo Gartzea narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Victorino Nuñez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Niguel in the 82nd minute of play. In the 83rd minute Aldo Niguel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Victorino Nuñez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Bakemonogatari booed when Defensa y Justicia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Romero didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Bakemonogatari's Victorino Nuñez got control of the ball when Melquiades Neto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Victorino Nuñez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aldo Niguel in the 93rd minute of play.
