Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ettore Coco in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marciano Mero prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ettore Coco in the 14th minute of play forced Ichipuca's goalkeeper Marciano Mero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marciano Mero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ettore Coco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Patronato FC booed when Ichipuca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horacio George didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marciano Mero was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Vladimiro Senon. Braulio Rufo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Mateo Chano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zeledon Argider received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Marciano Mero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mateo Chano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braulio Rufo in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute, Patronato FC's Ettore Coco ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marciano Mero. Marciano Mero yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Ettore Coco struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Marciano Mero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Patronato FC. Maximiliano Gauargi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mateo Chano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Braulio Rufo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ichipuca's Marciano Mero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zeledon Argider in the 53rd minute of play. Marciano Mero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Argider, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Zeledon Argider sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ichipuca's zone, Vladimiro Senon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marciano Mero came out of the goal and Vladimiro Senon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Honorio Ospetsu hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 75 minutes into the match, Patronato FC's goalkeeper Mateo Chano had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Maximiliano Gauargi. With a little luck, Patronato FC's Mateo Chano got control of the ball when Aureliano Calisto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mateo Chano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braulio Rufo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maximiliano Gauargi got free with Mateo Chano in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 82nd minute, Ettore Coco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Patronato FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. If Maximiliano Gauargi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Patronato FC's zone, Daniel Monico stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateo Chano came out of the goal and Daniel Monico tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Maximiliano Gauargi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Patronato FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
