Adan Orlanda kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Argentinos del Sur's Segundo Jerano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Israel Quinton in the 7th minute of play. Teofilo Joachim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cayetano Abecia in the 11th minute of the match. In the 14th match minute, Deportivo Merlo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Rafe to maneuver through the defense. If Hilario Garoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 18th match minute, Argentinos del Sur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andres Tabb to maneuver through the defense. Deportivo Merlo's Teofilo Joachim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Merlo from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute, Argentinos del Sur's Diego Ezkerra dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. 32 minutes in the game, Cayetano Abecia fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Teofilo Joachim having to interfere. Teofilo Joachim came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Argentinos del Sur's Diego Ezkerra. But to his dismay, Diego Ezkerra quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. Enrique Mundo hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Marcelo Gamus might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Teofilo Joachim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Marcelo Gamus ran back to his position shaking his head. Cayetano Abecia had several of the Deportivo Merlo's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 40 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Teofilo Joachim as he didn't even see the shot coming. Marcelo Gamus's late challenge caught a Deportivo Merlo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marcelo Gamus helped the player get up and apologised. Marcelo Gamus kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. In the 47th minute, Hilario Garoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Ezkerra in the 53rd minute of play forced Deportivo Merlo's goalkeeper Teofilo Joachim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 4-0 became the score in the 58th minute when Cayetano Abecia elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Teofilo Joachim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diego Ezkerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Segundo Jerano made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hilario Garoa in the 63rd minute. After having played for 64 minutes, Israel Quinton managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Deportivo Merlo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Israel Quinton was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Diego Ezkerra charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diego Ezkerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 68 played minutes Argentinos del Sur got a freekick which was hit by Diego Ezkerra. Diego Ezkerra hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Teofilo Joachim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cayetano Abecia, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. In the 77th match minute, Argentinos del Sur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cayetano Abecia to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute Israel Quinton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Segundo Jerano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Deportivo Merlo booed when Argentinos del Sur was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Gamus didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiburcio Vela in the 88th minute of play forced Deportivo Merlo's goalkeeper Teofilo Joachim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcelo Gamus fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Teofilo Joachim having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cayetano Abecia in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Teofilo Joachim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Argentinos del Sur fans cheered their team off the field, for while Deportivo Merlo had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
