To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Galpones's Armando Beremundo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Segundo Etor in the 22nd minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Lucio Gabino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CF La Plata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucio Gabino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Armando Beremundo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Segundo Etor in the 32nd minute of play. Venancio Bastiaro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The CF La Plata players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Galpones were winning 0-1.

Paulino Diaz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in CF La Plata's zone, Eleuterio Rutenio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciro Afonso came out of the goal and Eleuterio Rutenio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Mauricio Edorta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Segundo Etor in the 63rd minute of play forced Galpones's goalkeeper Armando Beremundo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armando Beremundo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lucio Gabino went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. In the 70th minute of the match, Paulino Diaz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ciro Afonso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. With a little luck, CF La Plata's Ciro Afonso got control of the ball when Eleuterio Rutenio tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eleuterio Rutenio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Ciro Afonso made a huge save. After 94 played minutes Galpones got a freekick which was hit by Augusto Olentzaro. 98 minutes into the match, Galpones's goal looked a bit too open when Segundo Etor came free, but Armando Beremundo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
