The Forest Green fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The audience was convinced that Florentino Piarres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruperto Bilbo was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Jacobo Iruinea put it in 0-6 from a short distance just to the right of Ruperto Bilbo. Forest Green's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
