After a defensive mix-up in Esporao FC's zone, Afonso Cabral stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Olavo Macieira came out of the goal and Afonso Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dário Frois, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 32 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Tomás Azevedo was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Olavo Macieira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vasco Lopes in the 35th minute of the match. G. D. BOTAFOGO dos BOLHOS's Afonso Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Afonso Cabral to strike the kick off in the second half. Olavo Macieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Romão Caeiro in the 82nd minute of play forced G. D. BOTAFOGO dos BOLHOS's goalkeeper Tomás Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 84 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Romão Caeiro sped through G. D.
