The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Kirk Hargreaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ash Basham having to interfere. Chiswick's Ash Basham played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Hargreaves in the 8th minute of play. A collision led to Chiswick getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Nathan Foster hit a great ball. In the 28th minute Steve Fenton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ash Basham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ash Basham took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Steve Fenton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Ash Basham managed to avoid a goal in the 31stth minute, when Wallsend AFC's Andre Gayle fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steve Fenton during the 33rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Steve Fenton kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 38th minute of the match, Steve Fenton tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ash Basham saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ash Basham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kirk Hargreaves in the 40th minute of play. Olly Metcalfe hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Ash Basham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Andre Gayle went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. If Kirk Hargreaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andre Shaw stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the game, Wallsend AFC's Kirk Hargreaves nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ash Basham made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Andre Gayle took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ash Basham. Ash Basham dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 62nd match minute, Wallsend AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andre Carey-Bertram to maneuver through the defense. After 64 played minutes Wallsend AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ted Hilton. Dane Gibbons made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andre Shaw in the 67th minute. A collision led to Wallsend AFC getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Vince Graydon hit a great ball. When Ted Hilton fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wallsend AFC's protests and gave Ted Hilton a yellow card for diving instead. If Andre Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 90 played minutes Wallsend AFC got a freekick which was hit by Giles Langston. Steve Fenton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ash Basham having to interfere. In the 98th minute Kirk Hargreaves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ash Basham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Wallsend AFC had played much better football throughout.
