In the 14th minute, Martin Folwill hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 17 minutes into the game, Kristopher Mumford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shaftesbury FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Purple Cobras the free kick. Kristopher Mumford hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Perry Toovey from long distance, 18 minutes into the match, got Barry Tully's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 20th match minute, Purple Cobras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Barr to maneuver through the defense. In the 21st minute of the match Nath Forrest sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bill Kay skillfully saved the ball. Camron Roberts hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Trev Gardener managed to get in a good position for a shot. In the 34th minute, Johnny Attwood ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Barry Tully was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 37 minutes into the match, Shaftesbury FC's Trev Gardener sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bill Kay narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Barry Tully took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Folwill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Trev Gardener blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bill Kay having to make a save.

Purple Cobras's defense didn't have a chance, in the 65th minute, when Trev Gardener scored to the left of an out of position Bill Kay, making the score, 2-2. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Shaftesbury FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
