In the 4th minute, Nilton dos Santos reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Sune Klack. The goal made the score 1-0. Johan Dalström kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Åke Nyström in the 18th minute of play forced FC Scarmach's goalkeeper Gustaf Billock to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 19 minutes of play, Gimo's Fredrik Ahlbom made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gustaf Billock was left in no man's land by his defense there! August Östensson kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. The throw-in from Patric Mikaelsson in the 26th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Gimo's Ove Ekberg. 29 minutes into the match, FC Scarmach's goal looked a bit too open when Jörgen Arhenius came free, but Gustaf Billock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Nilton dos Santos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Sune Klack. That made the score 2-1 in the 30 minute of play. The supporters of FC Scarmach booed when Gimo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xavier Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gimo's zone, Alf Johansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sune Klack came out of the goal and Alf Johansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 44th minute, Jörgen Arhenius ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gustaf Billock was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 2-3 lead.

Gimo made a substitution. Agne Julin replaced Bengt-Åke Nyström. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alf Johansson to strike the kick off in the second half. The tension between the Gimo and the FC Scarmach players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 90th minute of the match August Östensson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sune Klack showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some careless play in the Gimo defense, Nilton dos Santos kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sune Klack. The Gimo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sune Klack should have stopped the shot. Gimo played a much better game than FC Scarmach and deserved their victory. The FC Scarmach players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
