Dinu Colin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gilead FC's Sjoerd Evans played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joop Luikens in the 23rd minute of play. Tymoteusz Majorski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Joop Luikens fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Leeds United AFC's protests and gave Joop Luikens a yellow card for diving instead. Joop Luikens hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Leeds United AFC's goalkeeper Jan Rein Vliet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 33rd minute Joop Luikens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sjoerd Evans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sjoerd Evans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Otto Hoving, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. Dinu Colin recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jan Rein Vliet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dinu Colin, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 41 minutes into the match, Leeds United AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Dinu Colin came free, but Jan Rein Vliet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thijs Need stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Sjoerd Evans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Thijs Need's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. Dinu Colin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Dinu Colin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 67th minute, Aad Pepping got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thijs Need had several of the Gilead FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 73 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Sjoerd Evans as he didn't even see the shot coming. Leeds United AFC's Jan Rein Vliet played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dinu Colin in the 81st minute of play. Gilead FC's Sjoerd Evans proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Gilead FC from getting a goal against them. After 84 minutes of play, Leeds United AFC's Otto Hoving made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sjoerd Evans was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 89 minutes, Aad Pepping managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gilead FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aad Pepping was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dinu Colin in the 92nd minute of play forced Leeds United AFC's goalkeeper Jan Rein Vliet to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Tymoteusz Majorski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gilead FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tymoteusz Majorski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jan Rein Vliet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Leeds United AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Leeds United AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
