In the 24th minute, Alex Iniesta reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Nilson Coutinho. The goal made the score 2-0. The supporters of Corvite booed when Valencia CF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alba Griego didn't get a good kick on the ball. Álvaro Colombatti took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 33rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Nabar Serena. Valencia CF's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Julen Casals had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nabar Serena. In the 46th minute Iván Griful shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nabar Serena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nabar Serena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joanes Veloso, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A sloppy throw-in by Quico Vera in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Corvite's Gonzalo Cartagena. Romeo Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Valencia CF's Xilo Iniesta got a free kick in the 67th minute. Alex Iniesta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Quico Vera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson Coutinho having to interfere. After having played for 76 minutes, Álvaro Colombatti managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corvite's supporters crossed their fingers, but Álvaro Colombatti was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Svante Jonasson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 83rd minute, Gonzalo Cartagena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Crescencio Higuera during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Valencia CF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Crescencio Higuera to maneuver through the defense.
