Harald Hegner started the match with the kick off. 宋枫义 was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Anthony Gmür showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 9 minute of play. Harald Hegner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Huber Grubenmann having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Cagliari's Carl Rutten got a free kick in the 25th minute. After 29 played minutes Pfaffensprung got a freekick which was hit by Gerd Gloor. In the 35th minute Carl Rutten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huber Grubenmann saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 宋枫义 didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Anthony Gmür went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice moves Joao Kappel could shoot a difficult shot in the 47th minute, which 宋枫义 however easily saved by the left post. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Argus Fassbind to make the kick off. Jay Labrie might have been able to make a better finish in the 50th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Huber Grubenmann. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jay Labrie ran back to his position shaking his head. Carl Rutten received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Huber Grubenmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Argus Fassbind in the 55th minute of play forced Cagliari's goalkeeper 宋枫义 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Mathias Naumann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Pfaffensprung's zone, Harald Hegner stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Huber Grubenmann came out of the goal and Harald Hegner tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Pfaffensprung booed when Cagliari was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mathias Naumann didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Gerd Gloor sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but 宋枫义 skillfully saved the ball. Jay Labrie received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Huber Grubenmann tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 宋枫义 showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joao Kappel in the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the game, Pfaffensprung's Anthony Gmür nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. 宋枫义 made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After a rather tough play, Pfaffensprung's Joe Sperisen got a free kick in the 72nd minute. Jay Labrie's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Huber Grubenmann read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Jay Labrie got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jay Labrie got free with Huber Grubenmann in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Cagliari's goalkeeper 宋枫义, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 宋枫义 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joe Sperisen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pfaffensprung walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
