The referee ignored Echapora's protests and gave Celsinho Galvão a yellow card for diving instead. After 20 played minutes Echapora got a freekick which was hit by Celsinho Galvão. Silas Fernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Zachariasz Budzynski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zachariasz Budzynski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silas Fernandez in the 27th minute of play. The supporters of Rua do Coco booed when Echapora was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Celsinho Galvão didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 32nd minute of the match Horácio Linhares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciro Mattos skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Cabral in the 33rd minute of play forced Echapora's goalkeeper Ciro Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ezequiel Guimarães's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 35thth minute, Ciro Mattos skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Ciro Mattos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Virgílio Cabral's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Silas Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 39 minutes into the game, Rua do Coco's Ezequiel Guimarães nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ciro Mattos made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Silas Fernandez to strike the kick off in the second half. If Ezequiel Guimarães had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ezequiel Guimarães came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Rua do Coco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ezequiel Guimarães couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Echapora's Emerson Furtado got a free kick in the 74th minute. After having played for 80 minutes, Virgílio Cabral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rua do Coco's supporters crossed their fingers, but Virgílio Cabral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute, Ezequiel Guimarães ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ciro Mattos was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Virgílio Cabral in the 89th minute of play forced Echapora's goalkeeper Ciro Mattos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Echapora's Silas Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vito de Godoy charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Vito de Godoy the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Rua do Coco's Vito de Godoy got a free kick in the 96th minute.
